Harun Atalayman, born in 1977, is a distinguished Turkish sculptor renowned for his monumental works in public spaces. After graduating from İzmir Atatürk High School in 1995, he pursued studies in the Sculpture Department at Dokuz Eylül University, where he also completed his master’s degree. In 2011, Atalayman relocated to Istanbul, where he continues his artistic endeavors.
Among his notable creations is the Atatürk Mask in İzmir’s Buca district—a colossal 42-meter-high concrete bust of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of modern Turkey. Initiated in 2006 and completed in 2009, this sculpture stands as one of the largest of its kind globally.
